DWTS long gown dress Season 17: Week 2 Costume Critique Leah and Tony definitely used some great color. With Leah's hot pink over-ruffled confection of a Samba costume, I was glad to see a complimentary color (slate blue) for Tony's outfit. The narrow strips of hot pink cemented their costumes as a couple, while bordering on a little too ‘costumey'. Leah's costume was very wide – perhaps too wide. The saving grace was that the tendril ruffles didn't all end at the same horizontal line, creating some diagonal lines. I did give Leah a 9 out of 10 (with some reservations) and gave Tony an 8 out of 10, just because it wasn't totally sophisticated. "Latin Night" on swimwear manufacturer week 2 of this season's Dancing With the Stars, and a new format with only one night per week this time around. I think we were ALL surprised to see Keyshawn go home. BUT, we just need to remember that it is a popularity contest and the best dancers don't always make it to the next round. Keyshawn costume manufacturer and Sharna did have the worst costumes, though, in my opinion. The windowpane check of Keyshawn's Samba shirt wasn't very attractive, but was much better looking than Sharna's white satin dress with matching windowpane hem and skirt lining. Ugh! I gave the couple a total of 13 out of 20 possible points. Boring and not pleasing to the eye! Everyone else really looked good in their costumes. Who ‘Wow-ed' me? Karina looked fabulous in her plaid pleated skirt and dainty white leotard with lace ruffles at the shoulder. Corbin and Karina Jived and were theme-costumed in red and white, cute outfits. No border-line sleazy or skimpy for Karina this week – it was so refreshing to see! I wasn't a fan of Jack's boring satin un-tucked black shirt, but Cheryl's one-shouldered bat-wing sleeved Rumba costume was beautiful and flattering, (including incorporating a black strap). I didn't care to see her belly button indentation under her sheer mesh midriff area, but otherwise, it was a top-notch costume. I thought that Valerie was stuck in a Paso Doble costume that was too old for her, but Tristan was HOT in his double-breasted, short textured black vest with black lace-over-red shawl collar. His look was very dapper, and something most guys could pull off. Something not all ladies could pull off, was Emma's itsy-bitsy yellow, polka-dotted middle-connect costume with really short, ruffled skirt, and ‘real' bra-back. She looked great and Bill E. coordinated beautifully with his ‘stoned' yellow tie and basic shirt, pant and suspenders (also stoned). Bill N. and Tyne created a themed Paso Doble performance. I enjoyed Bill's wild hair and his Edwardian vest and shirt. I didn't enjoy Tyne's purple ruffled dress so much – it was pretty ordinary, presentable but nothing to get too excited about. Both Christina and Mark were ‘large and in charge' with their punkish Paso Doble costumes. The ‘Queen' theme is recurring with many of our custom-designed dance team costumes this season, with our high schools! I really enjoyed Mark's take on an ‘edgy' tuxedo look, and Christina's one-side covered one-side bare look was inspiring. The mixing of all types of fabrics and trims really ‘made' the costumes. These types of costumes work on young, edgy dancers but wouldn't be so appropriate on dancers ‘of size' or ‘or a certain age'. Another pleasing pair, was Elizabeth and Val with their Samba routine. Val has been seen in this particular outfit before, or at least something very similar, so it wasn't a ‘wow' for me, but nice looking. Elizabeth's monochromatic costume of all red was beautiful. Again, the texturing of the red fabrics and trims created pleasing details that gave her costume class and sophistication. I gave her a 9 out of 10. And I'm shocked again…Snooki…OK, maybe I need to start calling her Nicole, as she is really looking classy in her dance costumes! I loved her Samba costume, and her partner, Sasha's as well. I gave them both a 9 out of 10. Nicole's black lace over white leotard was nice, and the white drape over and across her chest and then becoming an asymmetrical skirt was top-notch. It didn't over power her tiny body and you still saw her shape. The added black panels on Sasha's tuxedo shirt added some interest to this traditional look of white shirt and black pant. I wasn't enamored, but enjoyed Peta's mid-night blue, Rumba costume even though the lingerie look was a little skimpy. I did like her dolman-sleeved, open backed caftan sort of overdress with the lace banding across her shoulders was a nice detail. I gave this couple each an 8 out of 8. Brant's outfit was 'so so'. I gave the same score to Amber and Derek for their Jive costumes. Derek incorporated some color into his sport coat and Amber was pretty and presentable. It's just that neither costume was a ‘wow' for me. So some costume surprises, along with ‘bottom 3' and ‘going home' surprises for this week. What will next week bring?

DWTS halloween costumes outlet Season 22: Week 4 Costume Critique I have to confess that I literally dreamed of being a ‘Star' on Dancing with the Stars Monday night and it was a nightmare! The theme of the show was to surprise the dancers by televising uponwaking up in the morning…and it definitely wasn't glamorous! We all went on strike, packed our bags and left the set - of course with our mussed hair, no makeup and night apparel…oh my! I do feel confident, however, that this will never happen on the show! Thank goodness! Sometimes props are asimportant or even more important lingerie manufacturer china as the costumes used, and the Cinderella coach was a stunning prop for Von and Witney's Viennese Waltz to ‘Cinderella'. The metallic lace appliques with rhinestoning accented Von's Regency tail-coat costume, beautifully. Light blue collar and cuffs, along with the undersides of his tails added the ‘costumy' touch to their ensembles. And the lights added to Witney's beautiful blue gown added interest (but were not necessary, in my opinion) to her frothy costume. Their costumes were very elegant with just the right touch of glitz. Although itwas a magical Disney Night on this week's Dancing underwear manufacturer china with the Stars, the costuming wasn't magical in my mind! As I run through my notes, I see that I didn't give any singularcostume a 10, much less a couple's costume a perfect score! My favorite costumes this weekwere Val and Ginger's ‘Beauty and the Beast' Fox Trot costumes and Wanya and Lindsay's ‘The Lion King' Samba costumes. Both couples wore very ‘costumy' outfits, but they were still stylish, appropriate to their themes, yet not totally expected. Minnie and Mickey Mouse started off the show with very stylish and sassy silver costumes and they coordinated well with all the Pros in their sexy silver costumes. The Stars then added color to the palette when they paraded out onto the stage (Minnie's costume was very flattering for her physique!). Antonia and Sharna danced a Jazzy routine to music from ‘Aladdin' with Antonio in a dapper white suit with gold vest and a touch of gold accessories/trim. Their costuming was nice, but nothing exceptional. Sharna was a classy Jasmine with skin-tight, oh-so-shiny satin leggings in lieu of harem pants. Her top with off the shoulder-drape was beautiful and coordinated perfectly with her very danceable, leggings. Marla and Tony Waltzed to ‘The Little Mermaid' with Marla in a very elegant, sophisticated mermaid costume with foiled mesh skirt panels to show off her legs, while Tony was in more of a non-sophisticated tailcoat ensemble with the high boots of the Regency era. His blue and white costume with gold trim was ‘suitable' but nothing special. The men were either in Regency era costumes or jungle-themed costumes this week, it seems! Nyle and Peta danced the Samba to music from ‘Tarzan', with Nyle sans-a-shirt and a loincloth skirt. Their costumes were monochromatic tan faux suede and very classy. Peta's costume included real straps and just a touch of glitz. Doug and Karina danced a Jazz routine to ‘Mary Poppins' with ‘costumy' costumes. I really liked the added red braid detailing that was added to Doug's windowpane check vest – it was a classy addition to a costume that most men wouldlook great in. Under Karina's red coat, she wore a prissy backless white blouse with slim red bow tie and a simple, flowy high-low red skirt. Nothing special, but very suitable for their themed routine. Kim and Sasha did the Quick Step to ‘The Jungle Book' with safari costumes. Kim was flattered better than last week, with her flowing, ankle-length yellow skirt that wasn't too slim in the hip area. Her ‘costumy' blouse was worn over a gold-rhinestoned leotard with leather belt and strapping ‘worked', but it wasn't very exciting. Sasha's khaki costume was traditionally cut, but then the comic theme kicked in with outlining pockets and such, with coordinating yellow trim. It demonstrated how to take a manufactured garment and make it a themed costume that anyone could achieve with a little sewing talent. Jodie and Keo did the Cha Cha to ‘Zootopia' in nice bright costumes. Jodie's fringed dress was glitzy, and flattering with real straps and asymmetrical skirt. The combination of fuchsia/magenta and purple was my kind of color combo. But I didn't care for the cheap-looking white trim that separated her bodice from her skirt – it looked ‘stuck on' and out of place, and made her costume look more ‘costumy' and less classy. I loved Keo's shiny, fluid fuchsia shirt with rhinestone accents on the tips of his collar and rhinestones accenting some of the stripes on his tie. This embellishment was very classy, and it would be a simple addition to any man's shirt and tie. Ginger and Val danced the Fox Trot to ‘Beauty and the Beast' with another rendition presented by Artem and Edyta. Both couples were ‘costumy' yet elegant. My favorite Regency tailcoat was Val's gold trimmed red jacket. The simpleness of Ginger's costume was beautiful, while the detailing of Edyta's was also beautiful – showing two different interpretations for Belle. The most unique costume this week, was worn by Wanya, while he danced the Samba with Lindsay to ‘The Lion King'. I truly enjoyed his creatively cut faux fur trimmed tunic and trousers with a touch of bedazzling. I was thrilled to see the close-up photo from the costume department that shows the detailing of animal print, rhinestoning and feather trim on Lindsay's lovely costume. Probably my least favorite costumes this week, although very creative – just not in a sophisticated way, were worn by Paige and Mark as they Quick Stepped to ‘Toy Story'. Perhapsmy bias against plaid shirts is showing? I did enjoy Mark's cow print tail-coat and his fun shoes. Paige's cowgirl costume I found too ‘costumy' for my taste, but I did like her sunburst pleated Palazzo denim-esque pants and weird bustier. Although theylooked a little too-comic book for my tastes, they do illustrate what details you can incorporate to achieve a comic book character look without perfectly copying.

Rosie Red Wild Roses Collection | Model: Georgina corsets wholesale Horne I also read everything I could get my hands on about corsetry: Linda Sparks, Jill Salen, everything Valerie Steele; I bought Sew Curvys ebook when it came out and Corsets: A Modern Guide by Velda Lauder. I basically Googled corset book, and aimed to read all of the things. And I trial and errored a zillion things. The first pair of knickers I made, for example, my tutor said looked more like dental floss Im a very hands on kinda gal. I would rather do it and talk about it after, then talk about it and over analyse before Ive even set about starting.  As an indie designer myself, I love seeing wholesale halloween costumes what my peers are up to in the world of corsetry. Recently a new designer has emerged: at 23 years old, Rosie Denningham of Rosie Red Corsetry Couture is already well on her way to the top. Her design voice is unique and easily identifiable, and shes already had the honor of dressing one A-list celebrity. Rosies curve-friendly designs are like something straight from a fairy tale. Shes indulged me with an interview Rosie Red Wild Roses Collection | Model: Miss Deadly Red | © InaGlo Photography How long have wholesale christmas costumes you been making corsets and when did you officially launch your brand Rosie Red Corsetry and Couture?I made my first ever real corset in my second year of university, so thats about two and a half years ago. Wow, thats gone quickly! Rosie Red Corsetry Couture started as a Facebook page to showcase my work and over the past year I have been building it as a brand. Although I am now working at this full time, with support from the Princes Trust, and have showcased my Wild Roses collection at many catwalk and fashion events, I havent actually launched in any official kind of way. I will need a launch party. Yeah, there will definitely be a party. Love a party. Maybe a Language of Flowers party (the name of my new collection in current development). Rosie Red Wild Roses Collection | Model: Rosie Pigott | ©InaGlo Photography Where did you learn the art of corsetmaking?University was definitely a catalyst for me, but there is just so much you can learn in a few days. I think because I have a strong technical understanding of garments and patterning, corsetry seemed like the next challenge. I have interned all over the place, beginning with a visit to Miss Katie, who made Immodesty Blaizes orginal outfits. I have learnt so much from so many incredible corsetieres, maybe most importantly that there are so many different ways to do different things. The Oxford Conference of Corsetry enforced this even more. What resources do you recommend for other burgeoning corsetieres?Intern where you can! Talk to people, ask questions and be curious. There is a fine line and an etiquette to do so, but youd be surprised what you can learn from just being inquisitive. If youre unable to intern, for heaps of reasons, then I would absolutely advise going to a Sew Curvy class. Julia teaches in such a hands-on way and is just lovely with a wicked sense of humour. And I know you didnt ask me to give any pearls of wisdom haha, but I would say: just do it. The time you may have spent worrying about not being good enough, you couldve spent improving! Rosie Red Wild Roses Collection | Model: Miss Deadly Red | © InaGlo Photography Rosie Red Wild Roses Collection | Model: Miss Deadly Red | © InaGlo Photography What other designers and corsetieres do work that resonates with you? Who or what inspired you to get into corsetmaking? Is there a particular element of your upbringing that you feel contributes to your innate design sensibility? My parents are both very creative. My mum used to make wedding cakes with these delicate and intricate sugar flowers and my dad is super musical. Our house is full of guitars, basses and other stringed instruments. Creativity was always really encouraged. As a little girl I was dressed up all the time. My dressing up box was my favourite toy, and I often sellotaped and stapled my own outfits together. It was Jo from Rawhide corsets that inspired me to get into corset-making. She was a visiting tutor for the corsetry module at university and brought in a whole heap of corsets of all different shapes and sizes for us to try on and learn how to lace. It was single-handedly the best, most transformative thing I have ever worn. I realised that this was an item of clothing that actually did something to alter the body; I felt empowered and incredible.Jean-Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood and Coleen Atwood have got to be my favourite designers. Maybe a bit cliché, but its the truth, and they are so popular and well-loved for good reason. I admire all of the corsetieres who are doing their own authentic thing, and I am lucky to have such great friends in such great designers. I recently showcased my collection alongside Neon Duchess at Oxford Fashion Weeks Couture show. Shes one to keep an eye on. I also have just received my own Sparklewren piece. I interned for Jenni while I completed my final year of uni, it was a total joy, as is her work and the lovely lady herself. Rosie Red Wild Roses Collection | Model: Miss Deadly Red | © InaGlo Photography Do you personally wear your corsets (often)? What about corsets from other makers?I often wear my own cincher and underbust. It really helps my posture, and I am massively into vintage clothing so enhancing my waist and curves is something I strive for. I love fancy underwear in general, you never know when you might get hit by a bus ;) Now that I have just received my Sparklewren, she will be getting many outings.Rosie Red Flights of Fancy Collection | Model: Emily McLeish | © InaGlo Photography It seems you currently only do bespoke fit work, is that correct? Do you have plans to develop a ready-to-wear line eventually? I currently do only make bespoke wear, this is because from having studied costume design you realise that no two bodies are the same. As I am specialising in bridal and event couture, these are garments that normally are taken to be altered after purchasing anyway, it makes sense to me to create patterns to the individuals shape from the get go. Having said that, I absolutely have plans to grow and expand as a brand. For example, Jenny Packham offers a RTW line stocked in places such as Debenhams. The sky really is the limit, so I wont ever say, never ever. Catering for all body shapes and types is key to my brand though, and by always offering a bespoke service this means that it will always be possible. Signature design features are really key to making Rosie Red Corsetry Couture the brand that it is. I want people to instantly be able to say thats a Rosie Red! Authenticity is vital. I line my multi-layered corsets with red satin coutil, I like to think of this as the Louboutin effect. Also, it gives a bit of a POW when you have soft bridal colours lined with this buzz. Maybe it says something about my personality too.I also embroider words, poetry, prose and lyrics into my garments. These are often in hidden places that you need to search for. I like to think that clothing can hold secrets, and I never explain who I am writing for or about. English Literature was always my favourite at school and I read a lot. Words are just really beautiful. Another detail and maybe the most well-known is my rosies roses. No one has worked out how to make them yet, and if they do they will probably realise that they are far too time-consuming and patience-demanding to try to replicate. I absolutely adore them and I will be selling them as RTW hair clips and fascinators in the near future. Rosie Red Flights of Fancy Collection | Model: Emily McLeish | © InaGlo Photography What inspires your current design work?Stories, music, meeting people, dreaming and nature. Its always hard to answer about inspiration without sounding too cliché. I just think that Im really observant and emotional, haha. So if I observe something and it triggers a feeling, I think, Yeah, Ill incorporate that. I also think about bodies first and foremost, and think, How would that body look decorated like this?Rosie Red Wild Roses Collection | Model: Miss Deadly Red | © InaGlo Photography Whats your favorite corset styling accessory?I like corsetry worn within part of a whole ensemble. Anything tulle or lace. How do you select your models? Do you have any particular models or clients who serve as a muse to you?I have so many messages daily from people asking how to model for me, it really is so flattering and yet so disappointing that unfortunately not everyone can. Miss Deadly Red is my absolute favourite for standard sizing but with a curve too. She came about because I really wanted a red-head with an old-school vintage feel that could pull off a fairytale vibe. She is perfect and an absolute sweetheart. My plus go-to ladies are model Evie Wolfe and blogger Georgina Horne (Fuller Figure Fuller Bust) they are hilarious, and just divine. I actually have made contact with several more models for something special I have lined up this year. I really want to represent all women and this means using women of all ages and also women with disabilities. Personality and confidence is key, I want to have a fun and successful day shooting. A dirty sense of humour is always welcome. Tell us about dressing Helena Bonham Carter! How did that come to be? Did you make something special just for her? Will we eventually see more images of her in your ensemble?I received my email one year and a day ago telling me that Helena loved my work. Madness. I still dont know if its fully sunk in. I think with hard work, positive thinking and a strong sense of ambition, you would be shocked at where you can end up. Some of the most frequent questions I get asked are did you get a selfie? and did you take pictures on your phone? Can you imagine how inappropriate and cringe that would have been! She is a totally amazing lady, but I was there because she wanted to see my work, not as a fan girl. Business head on. Any other celebrities youd like to dress for your bucket list? There are heaps. I really strive to have my ensembles on the red carpet, and as a regular feature. Paloma Faith is top of the list at the moment. I think she would be the most hilarious character and her sense of style is just so on point. I just had a builder come and lay some flooring (glamorous life) and he said out of the blue that Paloma Faith would look perfect in my stuff, and he was sure shes next. So lets hope hes right, hey ;) What do you think is next for you?As I always say, world domination.
